How to make AR Instagram filter?
Create AR filter Instagram will require you to master a few ideas and terminology. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create AR Instagram filter:
Table of Content:
Step 1 – AR Effect Creation
Step 2 – Testing
Here are the 3 different options to test the filter before deploying the developed filter:
1. Use the built-in videos that are already included in the Spark AR platform. It will show the user how the developed filter will appear on Instagram or Facebook once it has been deployed.
2. After installing the Spark AR App for iOS and Android, connect your phone to your computer via USB cable and look for a Test icon on the device. It will allow the user to test the developed filter on their phone camera in real-time without having to publish it.
3. Once the developed filter has been added to the Spark AR distribution website, tell a friend to check out about it. This is the most accurate method of testing an effect.
Step 3 – Publish
When you export an effect from Spark AR Studio, an effect file with the extension .arexport is saved into your PC. It is one of the most important files that must be uploaded to the Spark AR Hub in order to begin the publishing process. It stores all of the elements and code that an effect needs to function in the camera. Here are the steps to publish an effect:
1. Select a name for the effect
The effect name will appear alongside it on the platform where it will be used. Each effect published by a single owner must have a unique name, the chosen name should not be duplicated. You can upload this file to Spark AR Hub once you have picked on a name.
2. Select a platform, a publisher, and an owner
This step will determine where the effect will be published, which account will handle it, and to whom the effect will be credited. If the developer publishes the effect on both Facebook and Instagram, they will just have to go through one review process and will be able to access the combined effect metrics.
3. Choose effect keywords and categories
The effect must be assigned to a category by the developer. It allows users to browse and find effects based on their chosen category. It will assist in reaching the appropriate audience.
4. Include a video and an icon for your demo
A demo video must be included before submitting an effect for publication, as it will offer the user an idea of the type of the effect. It can also be applied to the review process.
5. Select publication date
The developer can select a certain date to make the effect visible to the public once the effect is approved.
6. Submit the effect
The review process typically takes 5 to 6 business days, and once the filter has been approved, the user can use it and share it with others. It is important to check the effect file size when exporting because effects that are too large will not be accepted. You’ll be alerted on Facebook and in the Spark AR Hub once the effect has been accepted.
